OGA is the Winner of the Secondary School Student Voice Award

OGA has been announced as the winner of the Secondary School Student Voice Award. The Student Voice awards promote student voice by recognising and celebrating high quality and inspiring practice.

Below are some comments from the judges:

Encourages informed voting and knowledge about important events e.g. the general election. Also supports student's expressing their thoughts and concerns on issues that matter to them and that relate to the wider world.

What made this application stand out so clearly was the parallels between the school setting and the wider world; running student council elections alongside the General Election was especially inspired. There was also clear evidence of student voice being encouraged at every step, and this is very clearly acted upon at every available opportunity - making yourself heard appears to be at the heart of all student endeavours.
